ABSTRACT
Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide. Genetic and lifestyle-associated factors affect its development. It is estimated that it takes approximately ten years for a precancerous lesion (adenoma) to progress to malignancy (adenocarcinoma). Colorectal cancer screening enables effective treatment of precancerous lesions and obtaining an early cancer diagnosis, allowing radical treatment and reducing mortality. This article presents colorectal cancer screening methods available in Poland.
