ABSTRACT
Percutaneous renal biopsy is a relatively safe diagnostic procedure. It is believed that severe hemorrhagic complications occur in approximately 7% of cases, and only about 0.3% require radiological or surgical intervention, including nephrectomy. The article presents a case of a 22‑year‑old female with a severe complication of renal biopsy as retroperitoneal hemorrhage, performed during initially unrecognized systemic lupus erythematosus flare. After the biopsy, the patient required urgent life‑saving endovascular intervention.
