ABSTRACT
Transfusion‑related acute lung injury (TRALI) is a very important and often underestimated problem of modern transfusion medicine, also burdened with a high mortality rate. This complication may occur after a transfusion of any blood component as well as plasma‑derived blood products such as human immunoglobulins. The article reviews the literature related to the subject of TRALI: its clinical picture, causes, prophylaxis and treatment.
