ABSTRACT
Introduction and purpose: Comparison of the length of postoperative hospitalisation of patients operated on for endometrial cancer by laparotomy, laparoscopy and robotic surgery. Material and methods: Retrospective analysis of the data of patients operated for endometrial adenocarcinoma who underwent total hysterectomy and adnexal procedures with iliac lymphadenectomy and/or sentinel lymph node evaluation by midline laparotomy, laparoscopy
or robotic surgery. Results: The longest average hospitalisation time was 5.27 days in the group operated by laparotomy, it was more than half shorter in the laparoscopic group (2.45 days). The shortest time, on average 1.96 days, was recorded in the group having undergone robotic surgery. Conclusions: Use of minimally invasive techniques shortens significantly the hospitalisation time of patients operated for endometrial cancer.
