ABSTRACT
Wound healing is a multistage and dynamic process of tissue repair including three phases: inflammation, proliferation and remodeling of scar. There are many factors both systemic and local, preventing normal wound healing, resulting in chronic wounds. In clinical practice, there is an increasing amount of vascular disease patients with chronic wounds. In these patients, we can use a wide therapeutic spectrum, both conservative and surgical treatment. According to the current researches, there is a continuous development of treatments for chronic wounds. This article describes split thickness skin grafting methods and treatment supporting techniques.
