ABSTRACT
Air pollution is both an environmental and social issue that can lead to many adverse effects on human life and health. It is commonly associated with the development of respiratory diseases, but in recent years more attention is paid to its impact on the development and progression of cardiovascular diseases. Assessing the correlations between the presence of individual air pollutants and health effects, the source of air pollution seems to have significant impact. This study considers only the impact of anthropogenic sources. Exposure to suspended particulate matter and nitrogen oxides increases the risk of myocardial infarction and heart failure. Currently, it is one of the strongest single risk factors of cardiovascular death.
