ABSTRACT
The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a new and quick method for evaluation of fundamental movement patterns and risk of injury resulting from functional movement deficits. This method was used for the first time for the examination of 124 soldiers from various branches of the Polish Armed Forces. The goal of the pilot study was to assess fundamental movement patterns of the Polish Armed Forces soldiers and to determine possible differences in the functional movement deficits among the soldires from various military branches. Different fundamental movement patterns were found in the study groups assessed by the FMS test. Asymmetries and functional movement deficits identified in the study groups depended on the military branch.
